Biology is the examine of life. The phrase " biology” was termed by German naturalist Gottfried Reinhold in 1802 but our understanding of living organisms just started to develop rapidly with the advent of methods and systems developed in the 18th and 19th decades, not least the invention from the microscope and the realization that natural assortment is the process that has driven the evolution of life.

Biologists attempt to be familiar with living world at all amounts using many different approaches and techniques. In one end of the size is the cell, its molecular construction and complex metabolic reactions. On the other end with the scale biologists investigate the interactions which will make whole ecosystems function. Many areas of exploration in biology are extremely tough and many discoveries remain to become made. Biology is still a small science and great progress is predicted in the 21st century. This kind of progress is usually sorely necessary at a time if the growing population is placing ever higher pressure about food materials and on the habitats of other species, and is threatening the very planet we inhabit.


Through studying biology, chemistry or physics, learners should see how experts work and communicate with each other. While the scientific approach may take on a wide variety of forms, it is the emphasis on a practical way through trial and error work that characterizes these subjects.

The aims allow students, throughout the overarching concept of the the Nature of science, to: 1 ) appreciate study and creative imagination within a global context through stimulating and challenging chances; 2 . acquire a body expertise, methods and techniques that characterize research and technology; 3. apply and make use of a body of knowledge, methods and techniques that characterize technology and technology; 4. develop an capacity to analyse, evaluate and synthesize scientific data; 5. create a critical knowing of the need for, and the value of, effective effort and conversation during technological activities; 6th. develop experimental and examinative scientific skills including the use of current systems; 7. develop and apply 21st century interaction skills inside the study of science; almost eight. become seriously aware, as global people, of the honest implications of using science and technology; 9. develop an gratitude of the opportunities and constraints of science and technology; and 15. develop a comprehension of the associations between scientific disciplines and the influence about other areas expertise.
